Raped YFm Presenter found; recovering in hospital

A female presenter at YFm in the Western Region who was reported kidnapped and raped has been found.

Reports reaching Myjoyonline.com indicate that Adaeze Onyinyechie Ayoka, popularly called Ms Ada, is currently on admission at the GAPOHA hospital in Takoradi, the Western Region capital.

Details of the circumstances leading to the abduction of the Presenter of 'Y Lounge' on Y FM are sketchy, however, the kidnappers allegedly took pictures while raping her and posted them on social media.

Police personnel are set to question the lady about the circumstances leading to her disappearance.

Managing Director of YFM in the Western Region, Franklin Fiati, said the presenter had been absent from work since Thursday.

Her mobile phone had also been off, he told the host of Super Morning Show on Joy FM, Kojo Yankson on Tuesday.

According to the YFM MD, he even sent a query letter on Monday to the Presenter because he thought she had been absent without an excuse.

However, when troubling photos showing the kidnappers raping Ms Ada started circulating on social media Management noted that the situation was more serious.

According to him Management of YFM has decided to transport Presenters home when they close from work.

The family of the Nigerian national some of whom are living in Ghana is devasted by the incident, the MD said.

"We are also doing our best internally to track down the kidnappers", he revealed.

Joy News' Western Region correspondent, Kwaku Owusu Preprah, said his sources say it is likely Ada was abducted on Thursday.

He told the Super Morning Show that Ada's dreadlocks - which are her trademark - have been shaved off by her abductors, prompting suspicion her kidnappers had specifically targeted the Presenter.

"She cannot talk, she only nods to questions", Peprah said.

He said he gathered further from the nurses that the Presenter was brought to the hospital around 1am by an unknown person after her ordeal at a yet-to-be-identified hotel.

However, to Kwaku Owusu Preprah said the rumour in Takoradi, where the incident, happened is that the kidnapping and rape is publicity stunt to ramp up the popularity of Ms Ada.
