GRACE LIMIT
(KINGSLEY SIMEON D) |
Once upon a time I was in a gathering when a question like this was asked “Does Gods grace have limit”? The teacher was so sincere with his answers but to some extent could not give proper answer to that question, maybe with the assumption that the fellow it’s asking to try his knowledge. The answer to this question its “YES and NO”.
THE YES OF “GRACE LIMIT”
We will take a look at the key words critically, 1. Grace, 2. Limit Grace is an unmerited favor, a gift from God through his Son Jesus Chris.
Limit a point or level beyond which something does not or may not extend or pass.
Well every gift from God comes with a condition attached to it. ( Deut. 28:1-14). When you read the scripture properly you will discover the level through which grace can take you. It is the grace of God that kept you unharmed when you fell into sin, it is the grace that gives room for repentance when a believer falls into sin “unknowingly”. But the condition God placed over his standard has not and cannot be compromised (Rom. 8:1) “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit”. Get the condition clearly “Those who do not walk after the flesh”. It means that condemnation will not cease from the heart and conscience of a Christian who walks in the flesh, no matter the activity, church affiliation, in as much as the believer is in the flesh condemnation will not cease from them. God gave us his Spirit from the day we accepted Jesus as our Lord and personal Savior, the moment we sin the Spirit of God departs from us and leaving us guilty and fearful, then our conscience will begin to prick us about the state we find ourselves. It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassion fail not (Lamentations 3:22). At that moment, God will give us space to repent from our sins through grace. If anyone abuses this grace it will expire and he or she may not have the opportunity of repenting, there is no set time of which GRACE LIMIT can be exceeded, but spiritual timetable is differ from another. We should not linger in our careless state no matter how horrible our lives may appear. “It is not by hiding you find help, it is by exposition” expose yourself to God who sees in secret so he can intervene before the devil takes advantage of your condition to destroy you. Whiles you are alive the grace of God is available (Titus 2:11,12).
YOU DON’T SIN BY GRACE YOU OVERCOME BY GRACE
For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; (Titus 2:11,12).
Grace is not a license to sin rather it is the ability to refuse sin, grace gives us the stamina needed to say” NO” to sin and traces of it. Grace is made available for everyone who is willing to be directed by God, but when we fall short of it, the solution is not to hide, pretend and act; it is by confessing and forsaking the sin. The limit of grace is exceeded when a Christian consciously and constantly indulges in sin. Grace is not a license to sin; it is the ability to over sin.
THE “NO” OF GRACE LIMIT
In this context grace is not limited to only few people, it is available to everyone (Titus 2:11), it is that privilege you have to repent after you have notoriously lived in sin for a long period of time. It is made available to every living soul here on earth. “Understanding grace is important but utilizing grace is the experience”. Most people live carelessly because they understand grace, but some live carefully because they have experienced grace. Christianity is not a denominational affair it is a universal lifestyle expected in men. Because of the availability of Grace God will definitely judge the universe with #grace standard#.
